Puerto Rico El Yunque Rain Forest Two bedrooms and a full kitchen - Sleeps 2 people or up to 4. Nelson's country home is a great value and an ideal site from which to explore the El Yunque Rainforest. You can relax in a hammock on the balcony and look out at the breathtaking views of the 28 thousand acre preserve that is the Caribbean National forest. You are near the juncture of three mountain streams that abound in river pools and waterfalls. Pre Columbian rock carvings are short hike from the house. Nelson's house can be your base from which to visit the nearby attractions of Puerto Ricos' Eastern regions. Nelson will arrange daily activities for you or, if you prefer, you can just lie in the hammock on the porch and watch the clouds go by. Lazy or active days will soon melt into one as you rest on your vacation on this lush tropical island.

There are two small bedrooms, complete kitchen, living, and bath. It consists of the entire upstairs.  (You walk into the upper level of house) All you need is purchase your food at local store. You will need a rental car to stay here. The house is $65.00 dollars per day for two people and $20.00 each additional person after the age 5. Weekly rate for over 5 day stay 5% discount. (8 days or more you save 10% per day).  This cost does not change for high season.

We also have the downstairs apartment with one small bedroom, queen size bed and complete Kitchen, living, bath.  This is the lower level. The rental cost is $35.00 dollars per day; this is only for one or two person.

5% discount for second timer return and 15% for third timer

We provide you with clean sheets and towels for both upper and lower lever.

Location is on road #191 up from Naguabo, on the way up to the south side of the El Yunque rain forest. It is an easy 10-15 minute access to the #53 North South expressway nearby at Naguabo. You can drive up the road and be in the rainforest in 10 minutes or drive down the road to many beaches, panoramic roads and shopping. LOCAL INFO - CLICK HERE

Direction from San Juan Airport
Route #1: Directions to Nelson's Country House from San Juan: Take Road # 3 to and past Fajardo (about an hour) Then keep on as it becomes the toll highway #53 towards a town called NAGUABO. Exit on your right at exit #22 ('Salida' 22 - Rio Blanco) You will encounter road #31 at the end of the exit ramp, take a right. In a few minutes you will see a metal suspension bridge, Do NOT cross this first bridge but continue straight onto # 191. It parallels the Rio Blanco River. DO take the left over the second suspension bridge and continue on up the mountain, just about to the top. There is a Bar & restaurant called Mountain View to your left as you go up hill we are two house's up from that place. We are on the right of the road and you will see a sign at the top of the wood house that says (Nelson's country House)

Direction from Ponce
1. From Ponce take Hwy 52 towards Caguas turn right or west direction towards Gurabo Hwy 30, go towards Humacao
2. then left or north at Hwy 53 towards a town called NAGUABO. once you pass the toll area take exit 20 then go under the path of the highway go back into the highway again as you where going back south direction
3. look for Exit on your right at exit #22 ('Salida' 22- Rio Blanco) You will encounter road #31 at the end of the exit ramp, take a right.
